During my thesis year at Emerson College, I served as the Editor-in-Chief for the Popular Fiction Writing & Publishing MFA program’s genre fiction publication, Page Turner Magazine.
The magazine had gone unpublished the year before, and my team and I worked overtime to re-start internal processes, re-invigorate outreach, and redesign the magazine’s website and print layout. In that year, we incorporated new elements and expanded our reach through:
Updated print layout.
PTM’s first original interior illustrations.
Updated website design.
Diversity & Equity section to highlight articles on how systemic bias creates barriers in how fiction is read, written, and published.
PTM’s first national distribution on commercial platforms.
You can find the Spring 2024 issue of Page Turner Magazine on Bookshop.org and Amazon.
The PopFic Collective
I served as lead for The PopFic Collective, a writer’s group built around mutual support and accessible continued education. During our first year, I organized over a dozen free online events led by established industry experts and bright, emerging voices in the writing and publishing world. While our efforts are currently on hiatus, we’re happy to share the resources we built, many of which were created and contributed by our awesome guest speakers. To see more, click the title above.
